Increasing patient expectations in esthetic dentistry, together with rapid advancements in digital technologies, have significantly expanded the range and clinical applications of restorative materials. Today, material selection is based not only on mechanical strength but also on multiple factors, including optical properties, biocompatibility, adhesive performance, soft tissue integration, and long-term clinical success.
This lecture will review the current restorative materials used in the esthetic zone, including lithium disilicate, zirconia ceramics, and next-generation restorative materials, in light of the latest scientific evidence. Clinical indications, advantages, limitations, and the impact of digital workflows on treatment outcomes will be discussed through representative clinical cases.
The aim of this presentation is to provide an up-to-date, clinically applicable perspective on material selection for achieving predictable, biologically compatible, and long-lasting esthetic restorations.

What defines a beautiful smile? Is it simply a matter of proportions and symmetry, or do biology and function ultimately determine its limits? This lecture explores the key aesthetic parameters that guide smile design while emphasizing the clinical factors that shape every treatment decision. Through contemporary concepts and clinical cases, participants will gain insight into how esthetic objectives can be achieved without compromising function, biology, or long-term stability. Because the true art of smile design lies in knowing not only what can be created, but also what should be preserved.

In certain clinical situations, treatment planning involves multiple possible approaches, requiring clinicians to select the most appropriate strategy. Patients seeking prosthodontic treatment often present with comorbid conditions involving orthodontic, periodontal, and prosthodontic defects. These cases require a staged, multidisciplinary approach while considering factors such as treatment duration, complexity, and the patient's socioeconomic status. This presentation reviews clinical cases to illustrate evidence-based decision-making in complex dental treatment planning.
